The objective of this surgery is to wraps the area where the esophagus joins with the stomach to create a tighter ring of sphincter muscles that works like a valve that prevents the acids from refluxing back into the esophagus. Laparoscopic surgery is considered minimally invasive surgery that does not cost as much as other surgery.

Although the surgery is minimally invasive and your heartburn condition is not severe, it is best that the surgery be avoided due to the risks of unsuccessful procedure that makes the matter even worse as well as due to the unknown risks of long term implications even when the surgery is succesful today.
